Fortaleza, the city where we said farewell to our stage-on-wheels truck, hosted the Festival das Resistências
An initiative by Aurora Lab, carried out in partnership with Instituto Procomum, with support from Centro Cultural Belchior, Instituto Iracema, and the City of Fortaleza through its Secretariat of Culture. Alongside Centro Cultural Belchior, our 100% electric truck became a meeting point for local and national guests who shared inspiring journeys in the defense of rights and in the climate field, across three key dialogues:
“Ceará resists: how communities, collectives, and movements are defending territories and rights against the advance of an extractive and predatory model,” with Andréa Camurça (Instituto Terramar), Cacique Roberto Anacé (Chief of the Anacé people), and Magnólia Said (ESPLAR).
“Connecting the end of the world to the end of the month: strategies of struggle and cooperation between the labor movement and the climate movement,” with Délcio Rodrigues (Instituto ClimaInfo) and Jandyra Uehara (CUT).
“How the colonial legacy shapes our climate ambition: what can we learn from the past to build better futures?,” with João do Cumbe (Quilombo do Cumbe) and Ana Rosa Cyrus (Engajamundo).
Centro Cultural Belchior also hosted five workshops organized by Aurora Lab and partners, including Graphic Facilitation, Zine-making, and Poetic Writing. The program also featured dialogue circles and the pre-launch of the Positive Futures Platform by the Heinrich Böll Foundation.
Over the three nights we were there, the truck became a stage and hosted more than 10 artistic attractions, including the performance O Mar Sustenta, Roda de Coco das Goiabeiras, DJ Bugzinha, Ynaiã, Cururu Skate Rap, 4TIN, Festa Foguetinha, Boi Ceará do Mestre Zé Pio, + Melanina, Samba de Pai pra Filha, the exhibition Olhares Marginais, and open-air cinema.
